As a complement to Internet Services, FutureWeb offers Telephone Services to customers that can result in huge savings on calls compared to using an incumbent phone carrier.

Since November 2004, customers have had the ability to choose FutureWeb as their preferred carrier for National Long Distance, International and Fixed Line to Mobile calls, and those who have preselected with FutureWeb have typically shown large reductions in telephone bills. FutureWeb Preselect and Override use the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), so the quality of telephone calls remains unchanged.

FutureWeb now offers VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) services, and calls to another party on the FutureWeb, VOBPhone and Freshtel networks are FREE. That's right! -- imagine cutting inter-office phone call charges to zero, or catching up with friends or family interstate or overseas for no charge.

Customers can save even more by opting for one of FutureWeb's Telephone/Internet Bundle Plans. Committing to a minimum monthly spend on Telephone calls, entitles discounts on Broadband (ADSL or Wireless) Internet Access.

VoIP calls also can be made to traditional landlines and mobile numbers at very much reduced rates (even cheaper that FutureWeb's discounted Preselect and Override rates), and there is No Flagfall on any VoIP calls.

As can be seen from the chart below, a ten minute STD call to a Capital City using an incumbent carrier would cost $2.50. That drops to $1.05 if preselected with FutureWeb, and a minuscule 40¢ if the call is made using VoIP. Similarly, a ten minute call to Canada, which would normally cost $4.27 with a traditional carrier, is just 54¢ using FutureWeb Preselect -- a saving of $3.72 or over 87%!
